Monsoon Season
Currently in Phoenix this is considered "Monsoon Season". Since we are in the desert, this seems to mean "You see lightning 6 days a week, and a small amount of rain every 3 weeks".

Yes, that's exactly what it means. Except that I've been through whole summers of just lightening, humidity and no rain. It's a dry heat, they say? Yeah, maybe for a couple of weeks in early June.
